Notes:

Source has lots of banding, used f3kdb(sample_mode=2, dither_algo=3, dynamic_grain=false, grainY=0, grainC=0) on it.
Blu-ray is brighter (higher black levels) than HDTV and has less dynamic colours. It might have been done on purpose given the focus of the movie.
HDTV seems bit too dark, has HBO logo and less details. I guess I would choose the Blu-ray.
